ask for what you need - a mindful musing

estimated reading time: 2 minutes

Happy good Wednesday 💚

This week’s Mindful Musing comes bite-sized: Ask for what you need.

I’ve been repeatedly reminded of how important this is over the last couple weeks as I’m working through some pretty busy transitions.

I was taught to not ask for help. I learned that it was shameful and that it made me a burden on others — I no longer live in that world, and you shouldn’t either.

That means you can’t go around silently wishing that someone would see what you need and give it. No one is going to be able to predict your needs everytime. That’s unreasonable pressure to put on anyone.

It’s also unreasonable to demand yourself to do everything on your own. Loosen any idealist and perfectionist stories that are holding you hostage.

You are a beautiful and dynamic human being whose needs vary across situations and moments in time. Speak up for what you need.

✨ May this week witness us love ourselves out loud ✨

With good energy,
