Yoga for Building Body Literacy at Poland Library

  • Poland Library 311 South Main Street Poland, OH, 44514 (map)

A 45-55 minute floor session, accessible for all levels (including beginners), where we’ll focus on dropping into our physical bodies with more presence and awareness. We’ll incorporate yoga, somatic movement, and breathwork to help us explore our own natural sensations, rhythms, and cycles to grow our self-knowledge and empowerment.

This series runs from August through December of 2024. Each session focuses on a different central theme. Attending all scheduled sessions will provide the most comprehensive experience to build your sense of body literacy, but each session is a self-contained event, so feel free to pick the dates and themes that feel the most aligned for you.

Session Dates and Themes:

  • August 15 - accessibility and disconnection

  • September 12 - effort and ease

  • October 10 - strength and weakness

  • November 7 - spaciousness and gridlock

  • December 19 - reception and protection

These events are offered free of charge through the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County. Participating supports the continuation of local library programs + you get free yoga! 💜

Bring yourself, a mat, some water, whatever else would make you feel comfy and supported, and perhaps a journal for self-reflection after the event.

*This event is in the small meeting room on the second floor of the library.
